Snitches get McStitches?
I guess I’m not considered part of a country.
Luigi wandered into a Mall of all places to get food. He was never going to escape with that sort of planning. Maybe he should have used some of that $10,000.00 Cash to buy some travel snacks before he killed a high profile individual and fled? Camping supplies, even.
He could have shaved those thick ass eyebrows too.
What if a worker didn’t dob them in, and they said they did in order to hide the real way they found them.
The NSA ain’t giving up their secrets that easily.
Good point, we know they aren’t above that kind of psy-op shit and a fellow wage slave snitching on the shooter sends the right message to other aspiring action takers.
what if the shooter wanted to do a nice thing for an underpaid worker and get them the reward for getting him caught?
Cant really blame one person. He/she probably got brainwashed by mainstream media propaganda that frames the CEO as some sort of “good person”.
You don’t need to be a good person to have a reason not to be killed.
Being a human being is already enough in most cases. His death does not change anything
Yes we can.
Oh no, we can blame them. Fucking rat.
I don’t think they should be punished, though. I think we should save that energy for the CEO’s.
You must live a very privileged life if you can afford to ignore a 50k reward. A Macces worker certainly can’t.
You’re falling for the lie the top 1% keep telling. No, it’s not the poor person’s fault to be forced into taking any chance they get to make some money. If anything, blame the CEO of McDonald’s that his workers earn so little. Also, direct some of your wrath at those who now enjoy a lavish feast by keeping the money, just because the “wrong” number was dailled.
No. Just smart enough to not be baited by money they will never see.
Also maybe they got a reward
$50k of a reward. Probably over 1.5 years of salary.
Still might not cover healthcare either.
I think I’m getting tired of people putting survival over standing up to the system.
Should people that still work at Twitter get a pass for the destruction it’s doing because there are lower level employees that need a paycheck to survive? How about employees at Google that indirectly enable Google to amass data at such a large scale it becomes impossible to have any privacy?
I understand the need to survive. Does a McDonalds worker lose anything by not turning the guy in? Is 50k worth the potential long term gain for society if the rich become fearful?
Maybe after a certain point even those trying to survive should share the blame for the negativity their contributions bring. Where that line is, I’m not sure.
This transaction feels like a bribe to keep the poors in check. “Here’s enough money for a small trailer to live in. Have fun.”
I’m getting tired of people putting survival over standing up to the system.
That’s a pretty privileged position to take. “Hey you, poor person, you should die so I have the opportunity to benefit from the system changing.” Is that any different from what CEO was doing?
Does a McDonalds worker lose anything by not turning the guy in?
Yes, $50k.
I’m not trying to justify it. I’m just pointing out that a year and a half salary is a pretty strong incentive. That is the opportunity to quit your job and not worry about money for a couple of months while you look for a better job. Whether you work at McDicks or Xitter, I understand the appeal of that. And I think a lot of people at least consider that.
Maybe after a certain point even those trying to survive should share the blame for the negativity their contributions bring.
This transaction feels like a bribe to keep the poors in check.
I mean, yeah. That’s the whole point. But I still don’t blame the individuals that are also victims of the system.
I don’t disagree with anything you said. It is a privileged position to take, and I’m not denying that. This is the real life trolly problem.
Nah, its more that if i had a way to impact the system, id do so in a heartbeat even if it meant my death so that others could benefit. Hence, I expect the same of the people that have been through what ive been through. The customer and the employee have the privileged position because they evidently dont know that hardship or dont care. How you work at mcdonalds and dont understand that rich people are evil is beyond me, so for the employee im leaning more towards doesnt care. Which, again, due to experiancing the trauma of living in the US and not being wealthy, means that he is the definition of a class traitor and is on the level of the CEOs. He saw an opportunity to get his, fuck everyone else.
Here’s enough money for a small trailer to live in
ehh more like a car… it will be a used car if they have to pay taxes on it.
Are they actually going to pay that out?
They usually do, it’s pennies to the government. Notice however, it’s information leading to the arrest AND conviction. They’re not getting paid anytime soon, if at all.
They don’t pay out unless you call crime stoppers. If they called 911 they don’t pay out.
It’ll takes years as well

The customer did not do it. They just were talking about how that dude looked like the CEO killer but didn’t rat to the police.
It was an employee who, after hearing them talking, called 911.
It was not a customer that reported him. It was an employee. Your misinformation is probably not appreciated by the person you’re pretending to be concerned about.
Um akshually it was a customer that reported them to an employee, who then reported them to the cops.
Why the hell would anyone report a killer to a McDonald’s Employee?
There is a video of the customer talking about it. He said that they were just jokingly talking with some friends about how that dude looked like the CEO killer. But not him not any of his friends called the police or had intention too.
The rat was the mcDonald employee, who, after hearing this called the police to get the reward.
Private school motherfuckers with no opsec
Every article I’ve read says it was a customer. Only people on SM are saying it was an employee.
My understanding is that initial reports just stated that he was reported inside a McDonald’s, and lots of people and articles assumed it was a customer. But every recent article I’ve seen states it was an employee. At this point it could be either one, but from what I can see, I think it was an employee.
I would be curious to see that image

I’d be keeping my head down if I was him.
You say this, but you’re posting articles with a video of him, falsely stating that he’s the one the made the report, when if you watch the video it’s pretty clear he was not. You really should edit this comment and your parent one if you are concerned about this completely innocent person’s well-being.
The video and article state that this individual was in the restaurant at the same time as Luigi. It’s not suggesting that he’s the rat.
Not sure if they took it down or what, but theres no images of the customer, and the video that presumably shows them wont play or load on my phone. You got a screenshot? Also didnt see a hometown listed unless they grew up in that town

I mean by sharing the link you already shared it, but i got the video to work and i screenshotted it in case they do take it down. Ill upload to a mirror later
By watching the whole video and reading the linked article, you learned that the man you’re screenshotting and mirroring isn’t the person you think he is, right?
Didnt watch the video, did however read the article and find that out. Its still worth mirroring the screenshot for posteritys sake, a lot of this information will be scrubbed from the internet. I do however plan to embed text into the screenshot stating that this is not confirmed to be the rat. I do appreciate you looking out for innocents though.
I don’t personally want anyone to be caught in the crossfire other than traitors and the enemy. Luigi did not harm anyone other than his target, and it would shame the movement and his goals for others to go scorched earth. Therefore it is our duty to not only earadicate the wealthy class, but also to shelter the truly innocent among the lower classes. I cant say that a single life is too great a cost, the stakes are simply too high for that kind of idealism, but allowing rage to get ahead of class solidarity harms everyone. Thank you.
Yeah, but I’m not just sharing a face. I’m sharing a legit news article. Anyway, thanks for your work making sure it stays up.
Yeah fair, not sure why i had a sudden moment of smartass. I even thought about that before i posted that comment. No excuse, but today has been a sad day
I gotchu fam
I feel like Waluigi wouldn’t have turned him in lol
Wario definitely would, for the reward, but Waluigi’s practically a blank slate. Poor guy’s never been given a personality.
Bruh wtf waluigi doesnt deserve that comparison
It starts with a video. I just checked and it’s still there.
I am honestly appreciate, that not everyone shares the same bloodlust people on lemmy have
i don’t think anyone on lemmy is simply bloodlusting. The CEO getting murdered just shows how sick people are of the current system lol
People don’t necessarily actually want more murders to happen, they just want the system to be fixed. Unfortunately, it was so bad it got to this.
Now, murder is bad and it’s usually bad to go vigilante justice, however in this scenario it’s preferable over the much bigger quantity of deaths and suffering the CEO had on his hands.
Problem is a lot of people, maybe even the majority on Lemmy, don’t seem satisfied with just one CEO. They’re calling for more violence, more vigilante murders. That is a slippery slope for obvious reasons, and requires a lot of faith in humanity to pick the right targets.
What the fuck did I miss?
the shooter got caught by a snitch in a mcdonalds.
Snitched for a $60,000 reward that they’re not gonna get
NUKE THAT MAC
iCe ShiT broKeN is actually advertising for them. Pretending that their diseased sugar is valuable.
