Almost as if austerity is bad for an economy. But surely the trickle down tax breaks, used as measure will solve it this time around.

Fuck “the economy”. What does GDP say about anything anyway? Under the current paradigm, just how rich the rich are getting. Fuck them and their GDP, I don’t get anything from it apart from ever increasing prices, so why should I give a flying fuck?

„Shrink“? I think you misspelled „growing less than some people want“

The new forecast that gross domestic product will shrink by 0.2% this year compares with the government’s prediction in April of 0.3% growth and brings it into line with economists, who also have forecast a slight contraction. The German economy shrank by 0.3% in 2023.

Good news is that this means less emissions.

Not really. This is the perfect argument for our right wing fascists party AfD to shit about our current government and empower themselves. The shrinkage of production also causes a loss of workplaces and people getting layer of, causing fear for the oelwn social security, which can be used by the fascists. And the AfD absolutely does not care about climate change. I think is quite sure that emissions will rise under their influence.

Unemployment rate is at 6%. In 2019 it was at 5%. So no people are not loosing their jobs nor fear unemployment. At least not for a good reason, but right wing propaganda.

Also the AFD would have to get into government, which if they do not manage it in the recently elected state parliaments, they will not do that on a federal level. That means the CDU will either have a coaltion with the SPD or the Greens. Both probably protecting most enviromental laws.

You’re right, but what the AfD really excels at is dominating the discourse. They manage to shift the discourse away from saving the climate to immigration and “inner security”. So, no matter if they manage to get into power the next cycle, they managed to shift everything to the right weakening the influence of progressive parties(at least they are part of that problem, since the Ampel Koalition kinda killed themselves).

Only because of willing helpers in the media. Whenever they instigate a “debate”, the media are all over it. Also the political establishment has no other idea than copying the Nazis’ talking points because they are successfully lying to themselves that they can gain a few votes by doing so, while it in fact only gives the Nazis legitimacy.

This is absolutely true. They really understood how to make themselves seen because the media and other politicians talk about everything they talk about.

          Left is in power

Which party is left may I ask? We’ve got right wing libertarians wanting to defund all social services, centrists who believe raising the minimum wage by 1€ justifies the “social” in their party’s name and left-leaning centrist Greens who appease their coalition partners on every single topic.

Bro wtf are you talking about. I never said that nor is what you said true. We currently have a somewhat left leaning government, but absolutely not a left government. The biggest problem is the FDP, which blocks absolutely fucking everything somewhat progressive. I can’t say why the economy is shrinking, because I have no clue about economics. Also I only said that the shrinkage only empowers the right wing fascists. You maybe should try a bit of reading comprehension before randomly calling other people tankies.

Aside of the already said. Poor people drive old combustion cars and don’t invest into renewables like solar. They also don’t care about politics with that topic as survival takes top priority.
