You’re right, but what the AfD really excels at is dominating the discourse. They manage to shift the discourse away from saving the climate to immigration and “inner security”. So, no matter if they manage to get into power the next cycle, they managed to shift everything to the right weakening the influence of progressive parties(at least they are part of that problem, since the Ampel Koalition kinda killed themselves).

Also the political establishment has no other idea than copying the Nazis’ talking points because they are successfully lying to themselves that they can gain a few votes by doing so, while it in fact only gives the Nazis legitimacy.
