    So we make vehicles now that are so dependant on software that state actors can basically take them over and control them at will, and the US thinks it’s only a problem when China does it?

    Why not simply mandate that cars sold in the US don’t have any of that shit to begin with?

      Because, quite frankly, there is no place for inefficient vehicles, and without ecus/other electronic controls ICE vehicles are basically unable to compete

        There’s a whole range of possibilities between having an ECU, and constantly uploading video, listening to conversations, and recording location history.

          They record even when they’re not being driven.
