Half a season, she was a fan because it was TS adjacent. My NFL Fandom spans 4 generations. My grandfather and my father, me and now my son. I’m fortunate enough to be able to afford games. I’m not a Bears fan, but I take my son and dad. I’m a Saints fan, so I have to travel to New Orleans for games. I can’t even fathom the privilege she gets for showing off her half naked body and exploiting her children.

Newsflash: women with all body types wear thongs to the beach down there and they didn’t need permission from a suburban nobody to do it. I really hope this trip opens her eyes to what a “third world” country really looks like (resorts in Mexico don’t count) and the IMMENSE privilege she has. Already forgotten about M being gone 🙄 her other kids are an afterthought too (they have been for a month with Sarah crying over M leaving). And this is her third trip in a month leaving her kids behind that she cries over because they’re growing up.

Those poor kids. My teens get upset if I leave for a weekend once in a while. I just take them with me now (unless it’s like a Bach or girls trip, but those are rare). We are seeing the world together! And i’m poor lol she could afford to at least bring the 2 middle ones or negotiate for them to come. Teens need us more than we realize. They are changing and transitioning and to feel tossed aside hurts them! Shopping trips don’t make up for absence.

So today is the first day of school and she leaves for Brazil tomorrow. I don’t know how things work in other households but that first week back to the regular routine in my house was always chaotic. All the forms coming home in backpacks at breakneck speed, teachers sending the lists of things the kids need for a successful year, helping them get over the nerves of being in a new class. The lists goes on. I can’t imagine being away when I could choose to be home and available. All kids really need to thrive is time and attention - not stuff - but she chooses to think otherwise.
Sarah & Shane aren’t paid for #gifted #partner vacations. The choose vacations over parenting. I can’t imagine leaving my kids during a school week, especially the first week.
Tomorrow is actually first day of school in Guelph, there’s a PA day today. So she’s actually leaving the DAY her kids go back to school. She sucks, everything is about her, she doesn’t care about anyone else. And it’s B’s first day of high school which can be nerve wracking and he won’t even have his mom, I hope they’re with their dad for back to school.

Her kids are thriving, at their real parents house…their dad. Who has always been there for them. But then there’s poor L…shipped off to NK again. That’s who her real guardian is. When you think about it, between trips and daily NK daycare…by the time L even gets back home in the evenings and bedtime, Sarah is a “mother” to her for mere hours a week, IF that.
As I recall, Sarah doesn’t even do bedtime with L, that’s Shane’s job.

And besides that, she is taking up a bed in res when once again today we see in the Star there is a dire shortage of rooms available for students. Make it make sense when someone with means to live elsewhere is taking up a room that a less fortunate, out of town student needs desperately.
I agree. When you can go back and forth to home that easily (and clearly want to go home), you should just be living at home instead of taking up a valuable spot. I know it’s part of the university experience but there’s clearly a shortage and students can’t find places to live. She’s a kid with a rich mother, we all know her dads job and they’re clearly taking advantage of it all 🤷🏻♀️ if she really does go home every weekend, it’ll make this even more sickening because a student who would actually be there 7 nights a week is far more deserving than someone who can go live at 3 other homes whenever they want.
I don’t get this. A lady I work with also did this for her son meanwhile they live in the same town… I asked why of course we have a relationship where we can be honest, and she explained he wanted the “full college experience” meanwhile it’s on her dime and she works so damn hard makes me sad.

Like shocked and surprised there are so many POC 🫢 so threatened, so unsafe by other types of people existing in their homelands. She is in for a culture shock that is for sure!
She won’t say it outright either, but as a PoC myself, I pick up on the subtilities and microagressions. The population of Sao Paolo is one of the most diverse in the world. Even if she only goes from airport- hotel- game- hotel, there will be no escaping the racial and socioeconomic truths that exist in Brazil. Her and her suburban husband aren’t going to know what hit them. The sights, smells, and sounds of an urban environment are one thing, but throw LatAm into the mix and ooooh baby. (Says me: Latina from an urban LatAm city who grew up in the hood, and I mean HOOD lol, of another US major city)
I am an ambiguous bi-racial POC to strangers and when I travel internationally people often assume I am whatever they are. When I was in Brazil a native Brazilian spoke to me as if I understood Portuguese. I responded in my rudimentary SoCal Spanish that I did not understand. It was so subconscious and embarrassing. Years later I now have the language to recognize this for the micro aggression that it was. I consider myself to have cultural consciousness and I totally stumbled. I cannot even imagine if she were to wander outside of her pod out of the insulted hospitality sector where English is spoken😬Out in the wild on the streets she would look like the biggest mark for the taking oozing awkward visible discomfort. All while giving her “don’t they know who I am vibe”. Hot mess express coming through 🚂 São Paulo can be an overwhelming city to the worldliest traveler to say the least.
