Never forget pakolaiskriisivuodet.

Redditiin kirjoittelu kokonaisuudessaan loppuikin osaltani silloin sen enshittifikaatiokesän aikana.

  • I typically listen to these after taking my morning LSD, and do get some psychoactive effects. Strangely the effects are completely different if I take amphetamines or light up the afternoon crack pipe before listening.

Seriously tho, I just started to listen to this for the first time ever, and it does work as a pretty effective and non-intrusive noise blocker. Easy to ignore.

Edit: never mind the second point, the surroundings just got quieter at the same time I started to listen.

  • Yeah the sub attempt scoring could be easily abused by pulling closed guard and doing things like collar chokes, sloppy arm bar attempts, triangles etc. I suppose here the concept was so new that no blatant abuse was done yet.

The idea of promoting subs more is of course in the right direction, so it would be cool to see further rulesets towards this direction. Maybe less points, only award points for the first 3 attempts, require that the sub attempt lasts at least 10 seconds or something like that. Definitely not easy to get right.

  • I have to say I’m not terribly big fan of videos with a title that is opposite of the message. It feels cheap. “Don’t do X unless you want [long list of benefits of doing X]”. Why do we need this?

A few years ago many countries were marketing themselves with “Don’t go to [country name]”, and it was cringe already then.

Edit: I actually didn’t have any patience to watch the video initially, apart from skimming here and there, so I missed the fact that the speaker hasn’t seen the slides beforehand and it’s some kind of a joke presentation. Would have been nice to see it in the title or video description.
