The future is now the arrow of time old man.
I’ve had some great ones, and some terrible ones. The bad ones only lasted for a couple of months. The good ones lasted years. I’ll have to check out the NEBO brand.
So asking it to fuck off is the best we can hope for.
What are you doing?!?
You want to go with slightly condescending, like you are giving the person the benefit of assuming they will recognize their behavior is ridiculous or dumb if you just point it out, and they just didn’t realize yet because they got wrapped up in their mind with the nonsense.
For example: What are you doing? While motioning vaguely at the Huskers.
Actually they sell light bulbs that have big zappers built into them. They work great with can lights. You cycle the light switch to flip between white light, a dim UV but light inside the body of the light, and both. I keep one or two in the kitchen to get rid of fruit flies.
I thoroughly enjoyed that.
I’m not at that level of need right now. I think I will be satisfied browsing information on the topic for now. But seriously, thank you. That is very kind.
I know this even without the research. I have IBS, and my modd can change on a dime at the same time my gut changes moods. Like, if I get gas, or indigestion, it can be quite sudden. And at the same time my entire demeanor will flip like a switch. Sometimes before I feel it in my gut. Like I can be asking myself why am I so depressed and then the guy bomb will hit and I’m like oh, that’s why.
Get your kids a damned night light. For hells sake it is easy as sin to set up a USB strip light with a remote. And cheap too. I even have UV strip lighting in a few places, like my nightstand drawer, to keep the glow in the dark remote cover charged and make it so I don’t wake my wife when I get called to work on the middle of the night.
Same with my wife. A tummy tuck results in swelling by the end of the day if she pushes it too much. She is still incredibly active, even works as a fitness instructor and her coworkers call her nuts for how much she does. But sometimes she just needs some targeted massaging and rest.
I’m a xennial and I feel the exact opposite. Although I do choose chat over other methods in some situations.
Einstein might have something to say about that. Not necessarily a counter argument. But something for sure. Or maybe his chauffeur…
Actually there are whole segments of science that deal with the problem of observation. Many things are altered by the very act of observing. Some of those are easy to understand. Like photons being used to observe things will drastically alter subatomic particles. Other are a complete mystery.
I am not qualified in the sciences, just what I’ve picked up a long the way.
Yeah, I completely agree. Except I feel like posting the automod screenshots should be the expected norm, not something that pokes the bear. That just seems like accountability to me.
I am no fan of American conservatives. But that doesn’t mean I can’t take criticism about all aspects of politics and consider the different viewpoints. Like you said, unacceptable for a news community to do this.
I recognize this as English.
I’ll have to look into everything you said here. I may be old, but I’m always game to learn new tricks. Thanks.
Repeated days without enough sleep is the real problem. It catches up on you. Sleep debt is cumulative over a week or more.
Yeah. That’s why I still give it an upvote. Mods shouldn’t be deciding what information we get to process in a news community. News and data is new and data. This optional truth is getting out of hand in every political direction.
Doing the good work here. Balanced and fair reporting in a see if dishonesty. (No, this isn’t sarcasm)
Thanks!
I met this girl working for the summer in a resort town (both employees at the same place). At first I didn’t think she was my type, but we kept getting into conversations no matter what we were doing. An acquaintance suggested that I ask her out and we could all hang out watching a movie (we were all just out of highschool). That was a mistake because it was ghetto af. Turned out the friend (ok she was an ex, but she was in a relationship) was interested in getting back with me and was trying to sabotage my chances with this girl. That night I leaned in for a little hug as I dropped her off at her doorstep (next door to my own). She aggressively shoved her hand out to shake mine. I was full of red flags and she was right to push back.
We’ve been married for 20+ years now.
Obviously there is a lot more to that story but seriously looking back I cannot understand how I ended up with this amazing woman. I was an absolute mess of a person and she sort of saw through that and gave me something to work for. But I caution anyone thinking they can fix someone or use my experience. It just flat out doesn’t work that way. My marriage had the odds of working that winning the lottery has. It did, but it was absolutely wreckless for us both at the time and we are incredibly fortunate we didn’t destroy our lives and our kids lived in the process.
Edit: autocorrect nonsense
Bleach, actually. A small amount of bleach added to spoiled milk makes it taste brand new. The government actually suggested this in a few countries for a while.
Plaster in flour was common enough that after the miller, the middle men, and then the baker all added a cut, there were loaves being sold with less than 20% flour in them. The result was mass malnutrition.
Also, and this is a spicy one but backed by basic economics, regulations are a required element to capitalism. The notion that deregulation is pro capitalism is a misinterpretation of the idea that markets are self regulating. A free market is one that is free of corruption and unfair business practices. Which cannot exist without regulations and the enforcement of those regulations. All our current economic woes are the result of straying away from proven economic theory (mostly deregulation) to the right allowing the corruption of the marketplace and emergence of a strong oligarchy.
