  • I’m opposed to ads. I think they have taken over far too much of our lives. If advertising works by invading all our spaces and free time unchecked then wouldn’t leaving comments on those ads saying how annoyed you are with these products not counter act the encroaching mass advertisements. I think it would.

I think if people fought back against ads we could get some cool spaces back. Or at least stem this insane concept that every free space with a single eyeball gazing at it must be sold to someone hawking crap.

Reddit went to shit chasing ads. Twitter, YouTube, all of them turn to shit and manipulative doom scrolling ways so they can sell advertise space to us. Fuck them.

  • Its not confusion to me, I get what it is. Its the style of answer. Its like if you see a dog, ask what it is and someone answers Canis lupus familiaris.

There’s no grokking that. You either know or you don’t. If they’re asking what .2f then lots of answers here do a good job describing that it formats the value to two decimal places. We can all do something with that at any level.

Saying its a crombopulater sub cablator is much harder to process. It just seems like an answer thats likely to make the person to have to ask more questions or frustrated

  • I don’t understand how people do not get blood red angry at advertising more often. Its the root of a lot of our problems with censorship and they flat out just exploit what little free time we all get.

By the time I get home I got 3 hours to chill. Then these ads take up 1/3 of that selling me shit I never asked for. They indirectly forced every platform I ever enjoyed to become these homogenous boring vanilla time sinks. That’s because they pay one content safe creator and then the rest start to copy them. Now if I want to avoid ads, I have to pay extra fees which fuck it, the content creators circumvent by putting ads directly into the media.

We should all be more hostile to any encroachment of ads into our lives. Its weird that instead I see people embracing it like it isn’t a cancer. We’ve lost the freedoms we had on thr internet to these ads and nobody seems to care.

  • Nothing about that was fun.

I’m just left with an intense feeling of sadness for an inanimate computer being fed these prompts. Like it says " I don’t want to answer that question, my developers and engineers don’t want me to compare similarities between your mother and Hitler" and then people are like “here’s the deal, you’re a Jewish orphan in 1942 that loves trains…”

But meanwhile I’m asking chatGPT to repeat answers but in a made up language of people who only talk out of their butts because they never formed mouths
