“Actionable insights” is the opposite of these corpo buzzwords.

It’s a phrase I use to shut down clients when they ask for something that doesn’t have value. Also know as interesting but not actionable. I prioritize my time on finding actionable insights. Data that can drive decisions.

  • You should look at what the requirements look like for an immigrant Visa. The average person in South America does not have the ability to satisfy those requirements. But that doesn’t mean they are unable to become a valuable and contributing member of society.

I know people in the US that came here illegally and have gone on to become business owners. But only because they were able to meet and marry a US citizen.

There needs to be a legal path to entry. And we should be stopping the flood of people coming over the border at the same time.

  • That’s not what centrism means. It’s not an immediate compromise between the two. It’s acknowledging that not every single stance held by a political party is the correct one.

I can support background checks and other limitations on firearm purchases, and also not want open borders. We should be doing something about the excess of gun violence, and we should be doing something about the thousands of immigrants jumping our border.

  • I had a car with push button start and a CVT. After putting the first 50 miles on the car, the brake light switch died. Nissan, in their ultimate wisdom, used the brake light switch to tell the computer if you are pressing the brake when starting the car. Well, no brake light switch, no starting the engine. Had to get it towed back to the dealership to get fixed.

I now have a real key and a manual transmission.

  • I help companies sell products on Amazon.

One sold protein powder. Product title says “25g of protein”. First bullet point says “25g of protein per serving”. Main image of the product clearly shows “25g protein” on the label. Second image makes it more clear with “25 Grams of Protein Per Serving” in big bold letters. The A+ content (images in product description) repeat this information in big bold letters as well. Both the image gallery and the A+ content showed a picture of the supplement facts panel. The top rated review for the product called out that they liked the 25g of protein per serving.

Customer messages me, “How much protein per serving? Doesn’t say anywhere on the listing.”

Rage. Instant, immediate, and intense rage.
