if you devalue trans people in any way, including nb people, please block me
I respectfully request that you not refer to me using slurs
It’s true not all liberals support this, but I’ve certainly seen a fair number hand-waving Biden’s vocal support of this genocidal state as if it’s no big deal.
Edit: “Fascism is good, actually.” -liberals
The conversational equivalent of flinging feces at a wall
It actually took great care to pull out enough for the picture. I typically can’t extract more than one (1) thin square of tissue at a time
I’ve heard of single-ply, but this is more like 0.25-ply
Where can I get one of those?
On a webcam soft-ly stroking
My “favorite” lecture from young people is the one in which they berate me for “stealing content” by not watching ads on YouTube.
I have a vivid memory of YouTube being a platform where normal people could share videos of their kids and pets or other fun random low quality but entertaining things
Dear people who tell LGBT+ people that we shouldn’t care what some right-wing nutters think:
This is why we have to care. What they think does affect us, unfortunately.
I feel like I understand the existence of this show more when I think about the children who have to see their friends and neighbors murdered by colonists. Even the host herself was injured in a bombing. They were striving to do what every children’s show does: Help children navigate an often difficult and confusing reality.
My co-worker goes to google.com and types URLs into the search field, sometimes not even the correct URL (e.g., when she’s trying to sign into her Zoom account, she’ll search for “zoom.com”)
I’ve tried gently persuading her to try typing it in the address bar, but then she will mistype it and tell me, “See, it’s not working!” and I’d like to show her how to use bookmarks and try to make her life a lot easier, but she insists she knows what she’s doing and isn’t having it.
Sadly, she’s also fallen prey to numerous obvious scams, including a pig butchering scam that drained her resources for years.
I’d really like to find a way to teach some basic tech literacy to older people. I’ve been able to help my parents recognize scams at least, but some people are aggressively unwilling to learn new things.
The term “work family” always seems like a huge red flag.
Because most of us dislike violence, even when it’s necessary and justified.
Meanwhile, the rich have no problem using violence against us to protect their hoarded wealth or if they can profit from it in the slightest.
Any service that is subscription based is dead to me. I’ve reached my breaking point.
“Libertarian” always seems like a misnomer. Libertarians only want people like themselves to experience liberty. They aim to do nothing to address inequities like social and systemic discrimination against LGBT+ people, BIPOC, women, and others. They aim to do nothing to address poverty. It’s social darwinism at its ugliest. This is why they are practically indistinguishable from conservatives here in the US – the way they arrive may look different, but the outcomes are the same. At best, they are wearing blinders. At worst, they actively support the power structures and systems that result in things like poverty and abuse.
People who legitimately do seek liberty should instead be looking to things like anarchism, which is interested in addressing the root causes of all of these problems, such as hierarchies and the state.
You seem to be a victim of the disease called capitalistus brainrottus. I already said I donate, but I wouldn’t even consider that to be as much a show of gratitude as someone who doesn’t donate as much but contributes more content.
I was a Skyrim mod author and you pearl clutchers were always preaching doom and gloom there too, but fortunately there you failed while those who contributed freely and openly thrived. You who can’t conceive of value beyond mere currency, where everything you do is transactional. I feel sorry for you.
I donate, and I’ll donate again, and as far as I know it is covering costs. I believe the person who runs this instance (Jonah) does so because he wants to, and if he should ever decide to close it, then I think he should, if it stops bringing him joy and fulfillment.
I feel like you are devaluing the fediverse by reducing it to monetary value. Simply put: If we are talking about bringing in corporate sponsors and ads, then speaking for myself, not only would I no longer donate, but I would no longer feel connected in any way to this platform.
There are plenty of other forums that aren’t federated but are sustained by people because they want to, not because of monetary gain.
Just look how monetization has leeched the soul out of things like podcasts and YouTube (I’d say reddit, but reddit was never good to begin with). Do you really want that here? I know I don’t. I’d rather see it end than become another site like that.
This whole thread is weird. I think it’s hilarious how people are arguing with you, saying it’s impossible and then linking sites that list every brand owned by Nestlé. You’d think it would occur to them that if one is able to consult a list, that makes it possible to avoid Nestlé products, since one can merely consult the list.
I think there are some synapses not firing here 😅
I’d gladly live in one of those apartments in the first picture if it meant that everyone could have a home
Paying Microsoft is like paying a ransomware scammer
No amount will ever be enough to satiate their depraved lust for money
It’s a common mistake among conservatives that they believe everyone is as self-centered and greedy as they are
I’ve not become more conservative as I age because I’d kill myself before becoming that awful to people around me
But that’s another hand-waving deflection. When can we discuss the deeply problematic words and actions of our current president without establishment liberals popping out of wells to tell us he’s not as bad as Republicans? He’s still doing and supporting some unacceptably fucked up shit.
