Arriva has purchased 51 new electric double-decker buses from Volvo Buses. The battery-electric buses, which are based on the BZL Electric chassis, will be delivered in 2025 and used on the 243 and 341 routes operated by Transport for London in the British capital.
I’d rather they buy a clock, so they can ride on time. (Their trains are actually not that bad in my area, during rush hours. In the evnings, they only ride every half hour, which sucks. Also the trains don’t have wifi.)
Probably worth doing a study on why buses arrive late. I’d expect it’s mainly because of traffic. Which, ironically, is best remedied with more buses.
I would argue it is best remedied by transit signal priority (rarely wait for lights) and dedicated bus lanes where required (maybe even only needed during rush hours).
