A solid and enjoyable episode despite the amount of cliches they manage to stuff in.
Well of course, some idiot has to challenge the transfer student who shattered the mana level detection crystal in front of everyone…
You’d think that story would have passed through the whole school quickly, but apparently it missed a few.

What else could we expect but a maid cafe?
And with a familiar-looking employee…
Takahashi does make a good point about maid cafes being a way for commoners to buy a taste of what it’s like to be waited upon hand and foot by demure and attractive uniformed servants, while Veltol and Machina find the whole thing ridiculous because they’ve actually lived the real thing.
edit: Also, having immensely enjoyed Akiba Maid War the words “moe moe kyun” warm my heart…
Done!
I finally caught up on the last couple episodes. I was worried after the Marcus arc this anime was going to get sour, but no, I actually really like where this is going, even if they’re just searching for a McGuffin by means of the magic school trope. I guess I just like seeing Veltol put in “normal” situations and then acting super ridiculous.
I must admit the “familiar-looking employee” caught me by surprise. Usually I can see stuff like that coming but in this case it blindsided me. “Lets get the one with the biggest boobs” XD
I had the same concerns about where this would go after Marcus, but yeah the writing and competent editing and direction has kept things entertaining, so crisis averted.
Yeah I agree, the “biggest boobs” thing focused me on Takahashi’s degeneracy, threw me off of what should have been an obvious trope of having twintails girl show up.
Which was good.
