Did writers forget about “Barge of the Dead” in season 7? During “Imperfection”, Seven ask B’Elanna if she believes in afterlife. Her response is ‘I hope so.’
She literally went to hell and back. How does that not make her believe in it?

I think B’Elanna’s not sure what to think of her “Barge of the Dead” experience and can’t tell if it was real or just some weird hallucination.
“I hope so” indicates that uncertainty.
It was a hallucination.
Interesting take, what about the episode makes you draw that conclusion? It strongly felt to me like her experience was being presented as quite real to her.
Hallucinations often appear quite real to the ones experiencing them.
I think you can even draw a defining distinction there because if it is not believed then pseudohalucination would be the better description.
