Summary

The US Secret Service has deployed Boston Dynamics’ robotic dog “Spot” to patrol Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, bolstering security after recent assassination attempts.

Equipped with surveillance technology, 3D mapping cameras, and thermal sensors, Spot can navigate complex terrain and follow pre-programmed routes.

While unarmed, it supports human agents in detecting and deterring threats.

Despite its advanced features, the robot can be disabled with something as simple as hairspray.

The use of robotic dogs by law enforcement and military agencies is growing, though concerns about potential weaponization persist.

I thought he was supposed to be saving us money. I bet some of his followers would patrol for free.

I’d lay some serious money that BD is paying to have it there. Beta testing, advertising.

A security camera system (even with thermal and bomb sniffing.)

The only thing that this can do that a security camera can’t is chase a person and continue perusing them off property. Incidentally, the government are the only people allowed to do that.

Even better, I bet he could sell the opportunity for his followers to do it for him.
