Sorry for the poor links to Al Jazeera’s live page.

Lebanon’s National News Agency is reporting that several Sri Lankan peacekeepers have been injured in another Israeli attack targeting the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) headquarters in southern Lebanon.

The report said an Israeli Merkava tank targeted one of UNIFIL’s observation towers on the main road connecting Tyre to Naqoura, in front of a Lebanese Army checkpoint, injuring the Sri Lankan contingent stationed there.

It said Israeli artillery fired a shell that struck the main entrance of the UNIFIL command centre in Naqoura, causing damage to the site.

To clarify, after wounding two Indonesian UN peacekeepers yesterday, Israel has attacked the UN again injuring Sri Lankan UN peacekeepers.

    UN Peacekeeping mandate.

UN peacekeeping operations are not an enforcement tool. However, they may use force at the tactical level, with the authorization of the Security Council, if acting in self-defence and defence of the mandate.

In certain volatile situations, the Security Council has given UN peacekeeping operations “robust” mandates authorizing them to “use all necessary means” to deter forceful attempts to disrupt the political process, protect civilians under imminent threat of physical attack, and/or assist the national authorities in maintaining law and order.

So what point does this clause get triggered and the UN starts engaging the IDF? Seems like this is a very big violation.

It was a tank firing an artillery shell…

It’s not like they can call in an airstrike bro.

They’re there because if a country fires on them, it’s supposed to mean a shit ton of sanctions and loss of aid and especially arms sales.

The problem is Biden has said repeatedly for decades that he’ll never ever lessen his support for Israel under any situation.

And Bibi is a big enough dick to take advantage of that.

Did you ever watch The Good Place? It’s like the part that has the nicest guy in the world, and a psychopath kid who takes advantage of it.

Except Biden isn’t the nicest guy in the world. He has been a genocidal imperialist for all of his political career. He said in the 80s, when Israel was invading Lebanon, committing and supporting massacres, that if it wasn’t for Israel the US needed to create it.

Despite his dementia, on this topic he knows exactly what he is doing, and his administration is set to continue on this course, even after he will be replaced by Harris.

Neither was “the nicest guy in the world” he was blindly doing anything that was asked of him and completely wasting his life because he guessed the afterlife was based off some kind of points system, he happened to get almost all of it right.

Biden believes the moral solution is always to 100% support Israel.

Regardless of if either of them guesses right or not, they’re doing the exact same thing.

That show is amazing and you should rewatch it

My point is that Biden is not taken advantage off. He has the power, he knows he has the power and he and his administration deliberately choose to continue on this path every day.

And so did the other guy

In the analogy no one is forcing either of them.

And no one is forcing me to keep trying to explain this

I should have given up long ago, but I didn’t.

Now I’m just blocking everyone that can’t understand what a fucking analogy is, because at some point, we might interact again, and this is very very frustrating to try and explain.

Bruh, if you’ve never seen it stop trying to go a long with the analogy…

No one was forcing the guy from the show either, he could have stopped at any second and did not conclusively know what the afterlife could be.

Ita the same fucking thing. And the only way you not getting this is if you were trying to go along with an analogy you were missing half of.

      • It was a tank firing an artillery shell…
It’s not like they can call in an airstrike bro.

There must be some tit-for-tat proportional response though, like having one of their own tanks fire its own artillery shell in their tank’s general direction or something.

They’re there because if a country fires on them, it’s supposed to mean a shit ton of sanctions and loss of aid and especially arms sales.

Having civilian officials there should be enough for that. These are actual military. They have the ability to use force, so they should be authorized to use it.

The problem is Biden has said repeatedly for decades that he’ll never ever lessen his support for Israel under any situation.
And Bibi is a big enough dick to take advantage of that.

The UN is under the direct control of either of these folks, however. Surely the UN agency that placed the Irish troops there has enough autonomy to order rules of engagement? Or perhaps, since these are Irish troops, Ireland might be able to do the same?
