    i’m assuming “frankfurter” is the term germans would use for people english speakers would call “wieners” because i love that idea

      True true, Frankfurter Illustrierte certainly was a magazine used in lieu of a roll around your sausage.

      On a related note: Half the time, English speakers use the term *weiners anyway which obviously can only be derived from weinen ((to) cry) and not from Wien (Vienna).
