On 8/27, a new federal grand jury re-indicted Trump on all four counts in a hearing this time excluding evidence barred by the Supreme Court.
Previously, Jack Smith had asked for a delay until 8/30 to determine a path forward, it would seem this new indictment is the path.

Conviction
SentencingOther grand juries, such as for the documents at Bedminster, or the Arizona fake electors, have not been announced.
The E. Jean Carroll trial for sexual assault and defamation where Trump was found liable and ordered to pay $5 million before immediately defaming her again resulting in a demand for $10 million is not listed as it’s a civil case and not a crimimal one. He was found liable in that case for $83.3 million.
There had been multiple cases in multiple states to remove Trump from the ballot, citing ineligibility under the 14th amendment.
The Supreme Court ruled on March 4th that states do not have the ability to determine eligibility in Federal elections.
From the outside it’s weird how the states determine who the president will be but they don’t set the rules for who can be on the ballot… In Canada federal and provincial/territorial elections are two completely separate things and the federal government manages its own elections no matter where people live in the country…
Very annoying that they had to take out any mention of the DoJ, but better than nothing. Maybe. We’ll see
I don’t think they’d gone ahead with the superseding indictment if they didn’t still think they had a case. These are smart people, and they’re federal prosecutors who generally hate trying anything they won’t likely win.
They are some of the best prosecutors on the planet. They know how to make a case stick… according to the law.
The problem is that we have a corrupt organization that is actively changing the law to protect trump. So… time will tell with whether this sticks or if we get another ruling that protects trump.
Political Calvinball.
Destruction of the rule of law, a.k.a. tyranny.
Absolutely, they’re facing a huge number of unknowns with a corrupt supreme court on Trump’s side.
He was SCOTUS-ly ruled to be able to use DOJ as an ‘official’ act bc he was President when that occurred.
I’m aware
Jack Smith for AG.
Honestly, we could do worse (see: Garland)
I’d say that in retrospect we dodged a bullet by not having him on the Supreme Court… except even that corporate shitheel is miles better than fucking Gorsuch and that fucker is, himself, by far the least awful of Trump’s appointments.
If this is in DC, does that mean no more Aileen Cannon for this case?
Different case.
Cannon’s is the documents.
That’s been appealed (yesterday) to 11th circuit.
Ahh ok. Thanks!
And let’s hope it is a swift decision.
Ahhh yes, the other set of federal criminal charges our former president and current presidential candidate is facing, not to be confused with the felony charges for which he was already found guilty or other charges in another state entirely.
I get that it can be confusing though
Different case. Cannon is in charge/was in charge of the top secret document theft case. She dismissed it on justice Thomas extremely flimsy reasoning, so it’s up to the appeals court to reinstate it.
This case is about his part planning, executing and covering up the Jan 6th insurrection.
Sooner or later, by hook or by crook, Trump’s gonna get nailed.
Epstein’s log prove that’s happened many times.
