Certain words are being censored. I really don’t love it but we can all fill in the blanks.
The great thing about the fediverse is that if some instance does something you don’t like, you can just switch.

That’s not how it’s supposed to work. The theoretical concept (and a selling point, really) is that you can move your entire account elsewhere. In practice, it’s not implemented yet for Lemmy, afaik.
Lemmy has hard coded censorship. It can be disabled via the code, but irrc not via config. It was a large source of criticism, even 3 years ago: https://linuxreviews.org/Lemmy
I’m pretty sure they removed the hardcoded filter as a result of the original discussion.
