I myself am 100ish hours into AC Odyssey on the Steam Deck, looking forward to getting stabby on some malakas!
I’m enjoying Far Cry 6 atm - I know people have (valid) qualms with the Unsioft copy/paste fetch quest style, but sometimes it’s nice just to switch off and shoot bad guys. And I think the main storyline and voice acting is pretty good tbh.
I recently finished it and liked it too. The setting was more of my taste than Far Cry 5. I just love the tropical Far Cry games.
I’m totally the opposite. I never much cared for tropical environments. I do like the Far Cry games, though. The gunplay feels good and the gameplay loop is enjoyable for a few dozen hours every couple of years. I think my biggest dislike of the series in general is the mystical hallucination bits that seem to always be present. Obviously the games aren’t realistic in general, but those moments always take me out of the game. I haven’t played 6 yet, so maybe they aren’t present.
There are some mystical elements in 6.
I just bought Frogsong. Very cute game, I only played for around 2 hours so far but I like it. :)
If I find some time this weekend, probably some Dead Cells, trying to get 2 BC. I also have Elden Ring waiting for me though, so maybe that instead :D
Someone on one of my discords showed some screenshots from SWTOR, so I plunked down $15 and am playing through some of the storylines I never gave a shot back when it first launched and generally doing my best to ignore the mmo aspects of it. I might give Hi-Fi Rush a shot, as it’s seemed interesting and someone else said it’s one of the more forgiving rhythm games so I might actually have a shot in it.
Damn, the Swtor class stories were some of the best ones I’ve seen in an MMO. Have fun with that one!
Also, I really want to recommend hifi rush! It is indeed forgiving, there are some parts where you have to hit on the beat (but well telegraphed), and I feel like you get the hang of it quite easily. That being said, apart from the gameplay it is also just one of the funniest games of 2023. If you get the chance give it a try. :)
Yeah, I got a Sith Inquisitior to max level when it first launched, but the lack of endgame left me abandoning it until now.
And will do!
Inquisitor was also my first one. If you want a strong one to start, I’d suggest the Sith warrior, imperial agent, jedi knight or smuggler (somewhat mid, but the dialogues alone are worth it!)
Currently zipping through IA and will probably do Jedi Knight and then call it quits. I remember not really digging the Sith Warrior line from back in the day, but maybe I’ll feel different about it now.
To be honest, I played the warrior as a light side character and I was pretty satisfied with it. It feels a bit rushed in the end, but it is certainly enjoyable. If you’ve got the time and motivation, I’d recommend. :)
playing Project Zomboid with a couple of friends :)
I played the demo of Life of P today. Also I am playing Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, Immortals Fenix Rising and Medal of Honor: Frontline on the PS2.
Hey how’s that running on deck? Was it hard to setup or anything? I loved it on PS4 and I’ve been considering picking it up on deck.
It actually runs really well. It was initially crashing due to the Ubisoft launcher but if you turn off the overlay in the launcher (using desktop mode) it is stable.
What’s the FPS and general graphics quality like?
Diablo 4 and TotK are my go to games atm.
I put a lot of hours into Post Void and Synthetic this weekend. Both are great.
Killing 20min here and there during the days with SNKRX a “roguelike snake” for next to no money (~3€ at the time of writing)
Love the concept and the artstyle doesn’t win a price but fits the theme perfectly. The soundtrack is quite good though!
Trying out Street Fighter 6 and their World Tour mode, my first Fighting Game, as a 30+ y/o. I completely suck at it.
I’ve been watching some streams of people playing and it really makes me want to pick it up. I used to play 4 about… 10 years ago? God I’m old 😅
That’s how I got into it, watching one streamer go through the World Tour mode, which looked like something even a total beginner could play.
SF6 (World Tour, I cannot handle online play ha)
Been trying that as well. It’s my first fighting game and I just completely suck at it (kinda what I expected).
Finished up Dredge and started Curse of the Dead Gods. And I keep floating back to No Man’s Sky
Dredge was one of my favorite gaming experiences in the past few years! Not too long, yet long enough to experiment with different trawling nets and rods. It’s enough exploration and story beats to keep me interested without scaring me away with too much much of everything, like other “open world” games. Great game!
Ghostwire: Tokyo, as it was in Humble Bundle, demoed it earlier on Game Pass, nice gameplay loop
Got the bundle as well and will probably get to it soon.
