      Yes, and I’m not using xtter, but I’m still being effected by it. As is everyone on the planet.

            Yes, true, but this is a lesser used form of Effect, and I thought it better not to muddy the waters for someone trying to learn the arbitrary rules we’ve assigned to one of the more difficult to understand languages in the world: English.

            “something better” in this case is getting rid of the notion that microblogging is even something that anyone needs

      The thing that makes me nuts is people justify it by, “but it’s the only place I can find (person or service).”

      Back in my day! People posted their products and services on multiple platforms to reach a broader audience. If the creator you like is too lazy to market themselves, having gotten spoiled on “Xitter will do my marketing for me,” then that’s on them. Encourage them to post on other platforms in order to reach you.

      They are complicit and so are you.
