Do you still keep in touch with your army buddies? I have some, and they are pretty much all Republicans. They are a bit embarrassed to admit they’ll vote for Trump… But I have no doubt they will.
The closest ones are friends for life. Most of the others know they have a lifeline if their world goes sideways and they are facing homelessness or the like. Also, yeah, got some conservatives, and they are the same way. They have been shot down enough to just “not talk politics” around us.
