From running the Greek through a few translations, it sounds like these are the babies of unreleasable Eagle Owls. But the babies will get to go free after they have been properly raised by their parents, just as in the wild!

Για τον μήνα τον καλό σας έχουμε μπουφάκια ολόφρεσκα νέας εσοδείας (δικιάς μας), από μη απελευθερώσιμους γονείς στο Κέντρο Περίθαλψης, στα Καλύβια. Όπως και τα περσινά και τα προπέρσινα όταν έλθει η ώρα θα τοποθετηθούν σε κλωβό σταδιακής επανένταξης και θα αποδοθούν στη φύση.

You would know that of course 😃It’s true that a similar coin design has been around a long time and it’s only fitting they used it to decorate the greek version of the 1€ coin.
