In Canada, the Ministry of Health pays colleges to teach kids COBOL and JCL. It’s a steady job, pension, good bennies. I know a handful of people who went that route, rather than the riskier private sector.

Yeah I didn’t really understand hangovers until I slowed my drinking down to reasonable levels, and then to barely at all. Now it’s not so much a hangover, but I notice I’m not really 100% percent for a couple of days after some drinks.

It’s interesting you bring up the controls, because that is one of the things that instantly grabbed me about the game. Before I even knew what was going on, I knew I absolutely loved moving around in the world. I used to spin up the game just to zip about for a half hour.

But of course everyone is different. Not every game is for everyone. I really grew to love Outer Wilds more and more over the days.

I mean personally I’d sub it in for something with some protein, though you definitely don’t need nearly the amount you get from a piece of meat.

This is dumb. But just to talk corpo for a bit (because that is the reality for many of us): early in your career, putting in extra study time (or just making time on the clock if possible) will give you a leg up for certain kinds of white collar work. Just because you’ll know more.

But doing work on weekends will set you apart as a damned sucker who can be used by others to make career moves. So do that if you want to feel someone’s pump in your eye socket as they trample you to reach for their dream job.

You’re never going to get promoted to an easier job if you’ve proven you can build like 2x more widgets than your co-workers.

You’ll get to a better job by showing up with your co-workers to the boss’ house and asking nicely.

Oh no! We got so wrapped up thinking about general human well-being, we forgot about productivity!
