Call me crazy, but I don’t see people rocking laptops from 2008 until this date, I have seen people using Macs from that day using recent macOS versions (with OCLP) and some hardware tweaks like upgrading the RAM or SSD if needed, or replacing the battery.
Heck my Mac is from 2014 and it runs fairly fine.

I was an Apollo user when I had an iPhone, then moved to Android and was a Boost user to finally move to Sync, now all of these 3 are dead, do you really think I’d want to keep being active on that “community”?
These devs deserved better, luckily both Android devs moved here, and they will receive the support of their followers, and Apollo already has numerous spiritual successors, Wefwef/Voyager being an awesome PWA and some iOS apps like Memmy and Artemis!

Anyway now that Sync for Lemmy is going to be a thing I don’t think I’d use that kind of workaround… Only to give a glance at the communities that I want here ofc.
IMO this is the move all client reddit apps should do, I know this is not an easy transition and probably not worth the time of all the devs, but that would be a great hit for reddit whether they like to admit it or not.
