Yes, because their ads are served on the same server (googlevideo.com iirc) as the actual videos. Blocking that domain would block the videos too.

Kodi is what your looking for. A debrid + kodi is basically netflix with shows from around the world, in high quality, on demand.
But, it is not available on TVs as a seperate app. Companies do not like piracy, so many applications that are related to it do not make the appstores. A cheap and easy way to get Kodi would be to simply buy a Intel NUC, or a similar mini-pc.
A water kettle. Doesn’t have to be any fancy one, but it really fucking rocks for anything you might think of : want hot water for tea? No problem. Need hot water to steep something? No problem.
Most mid-range ones are insanely power efficient too, often being alot better than just boiling water on a stovetop, or using a microwave. And, depending on insulation, heat can be stored for over 6! hours.
I’ve made a comment about NASs a while ago explaining mostly the important parts of it (https://lemmy.ca/comment/1524030), but to answer your questions :
Can you create a NAS with any modem or is the fritzbox particularly good for this job?
I would not recommend using a router/modem as your nas server because there are better ways to do this. Simplest way would be to get a small computer (like a raspberry pi, thinkcenter, etc) and attack external harddrives. Then, next step would be to choose how you want to share and use the storage; I mostly recommend NextCloud for beginners/intermediates, super easy to setup and start using out of the box.
For you I would recommend following my comment. Once you’re comfortable with wanting to make your own NAS, then I would recommend you to look into hardware and start planning out a build. If it is too expensive, look towards small, mini computers like rpi, thinkcenter, librecomputer, etc. and then slowly expand from there.
Yes, making a NAS is expensive at the start, if you do decide to make one with all brand new gear, but it is worth it for your privacy imo. The trip is long, sometimes annoying as fuck, but the end-result is infinitely better.
If you have questions let me know!
Oh, my bad. So, basically I use a docker image of Deemix on my server, which in very simple terms is basically a virtualized container on my server which hosts Deemix, the Deezer downloader. Then, I also have Navidrome on docker, which is a self-hosted music player, sort of like Spotify but with your downloaded music.
Does that make sense? If you’re having trouble with understanding docker/containers just google it, I’m not the best at explaining it 😅
Basically like a login token without sharing email or password.
I prefer using Deemix with a deezer Hi-Fi ARL. Has an amazing docker container which I simply sync to a Navidrome instance.
Where do these stats come from? Is it Russia themselves counting losses and publishing them?
Guessing this is in relation to the situation happening in France, anyone know?
Only Proton should be recommended for torrenting since it has port-forwarding. I don’t know why people love suggesting these even without port-forwarding.
