Yea. I have managed to never carried debt. Without that, what’s this guy got to offer me? In fact, the only thing the guy has to offer is the simplest financial advice there is: spend less than you earn.

But then a poor person comes along and says they can’t and his only advice is ‘earn more money’. Because it’s that easy, obv.

The guy is an out of touch chode who had some privileged upper middle class kid think he was the financial messiah once for saying ‘use a budget’ and let that go to his head.

My mother has posted multiple times how god can even use a donkey and that the man doesn’t have to be perfect for god to use him. She’s completely hand waved away the fact that trump is a paragon of the anti-Christ because ‘god can use anyone’. She’s also convinced that all the conflict in the US is just signs of the times that the second coming is imminent.

Evangelicals literally don’t care what trump has done or will do. Trump was right that he could shoot someone in the head in the middle of the street and his supporters wouldn’t care.

I think you underestimate how milquetoast most ‘liberals’ in the US are…

For the record, there’s no dissonance. I know well what I’m doing and recognize that I am choosing the easier option. Call me a villain, I don’t care. I live my life as best I can and to the best of my ability which you’ve made it clear is immoral and lesser than you.

I think it’s less veganism and more how noisy and evangelical the loudest vegans are.

If you’d just said veganism, I’d agree, but you went on to emphatically tell us all the reasons why veganism is better. All legit, sure, but all the underlining gives it a particularly condescending tone. It’s not veganism that irritates me, it’s how condescending so many vegans become. Same camp as CrossFit for me. They’re both cultures I don’t really care to be a part of.

I’m definitely annoyed by the lack of praise for America. She was brilliant in the role and personified the movie. Margo played the means to tell the story, but America was the story. Don’t get me wrong, Margo was amazing and deserved a nomination too, but so did America who seems to be forgotten in the whole mess of the movie for some reason. She had the single most impactful scene in the movie with her monologue about how hard it is to be a woman.

I’ve got a small 1200w heater that kicks on in the morning to bring the living room space up to 69. I live in a 40 year old house that’s insulated fairly well (I just had the attic redone last year to r-49) and it’s 45f outside right now. That little heater has used 6kWh since kicking on this morning getting the house up from 63f to the near 69 it is now.

On a day below freezing that heater will got for a lot longer through the day to keep temps up.

I wonder if my mom will accept this vaccine for her cancer after years of believing all the conspiracy theories about the COVID vaccine. I’m willing to bet that if she has the opportunity, she’ll jump on it.
