I felt completely stuck in my job and returned to school to do CS and now work as a software engineer. It’s never too late, I was in my 30s. If you choose to pursue it do it for the right reasons. Sit down and start to learn a bit of code if you don’t already know how to do some basic stuff. It’s not for everyone that’s for sure.
