  • “And not only are we not going to do anything about it, but we are actively seeking new and exciting ways to make the problem worse for the sake of profit.”

Their researchers say this just days after people were talking about them secretly updating their privacy policy to allow them to steal your shit for AI. I honestly wanna start pirating everything, even the stuff I don’t need to, just because if they can steal my shit without my consent I should be able to steal theirs. At the end of the day they’re the ones making money off of stealing but I’m the bad guy?

  • When it comes to protesting like this I don’t really give a shit if someone paints over parts of a building. But the books themselves? That’s just fucked up. I understand they are trying to get people pissed over this but this is entirely the wrong way to do it. All this will do is make everyone pissed off at you instead. I’d say a good rule of thumb for protest graffiti is whether or not it can still be used after it’s been covered in paint. Graffiti on a wall doesn’t make the wall unusable. But if someone put graffiti on the windshield of my car I’d be so pissed off I wouldn’t give two shits about the message.

  • We’re all kids. We just have responsibility now so we have to pretend we don’t want to sit around and play with Legos all day. None of us have “figured it out” and the only reason it seemed like adults knew what they were doing when we were kids was because adults were old enough to have fucked everything up at least once.

  • I wear one when I’m sick. Outside of places like the United States it’s actually very common to wear masks when you are sick. There used to not be a stigma about masks even in the US before COVID. This is because masks were never meant to be used as a way to prevent getting sick but as a way to not get others sick, therefore slowing the spread of disease. Somewhere over the past few years the lines got crossed and everyone started calling masks bullshit because they misinterpreted the actual use for them. Doctors don’t wear masks because they don’t want to get sick. They wear them so they don’t get their patients sick.

  • I mean I switched to vaping a few years back. Still getting a smokers cough and breathing has barely improved. I should quit completely. Vaping has made it slightly easier, though. But in all honesty, screw the health effects of either I’m just glad I don’t reek of cigarettes anymore. I didn’t realize how absolutely awful my clothes smelt until I switched.

  • Fortnite didn’t become a mega popular cash factory for Epic Games because of micro transactions. It became a mega popular cash factory for Epic Games because, regardless of your opinion of the game, they made a game that people actually want to play beneath the micro transactions. These companies make hollow games riddled with egregious micro transactions because they took the wrong lesson from the games that made it huge. Big games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, Overwatch, and Valorant are pretty decent games that have micro transactions while so many games coming out are just micro transactions with a game attached to it. You can’t get away with exploiting people’s impulsivity if you don’t put in the effort to tie the carrot to the end of the stick. You’re just slapping a stick to people’s heads expecting them to chase it. It’s why, even though I will never give Blizzard another dollar for as long as I live, I still play Overwatch with the boys when the mood strikes.
