  • Remove your GPU, and basically anything that puts weight on the board. With a heavy enough air cooler, if you didn’t want to take it off, I’d probably try to lie it down flat and make sure it’s on something sturdy but soft like a couple towels. That would just mean that it’s not hanging the weight off the board.

I’m not entirely sure about glass sides, if you have it, but I’d take the panel off and keep it safe like you would a mirror. It should be fine either way but if the case flexes funny I dunno how that would play out. If you can’t make it work then it’s probably fine but that might be the best bet.

  • The free breakfast is different, though. You’ve introduced it to the conversation and are leaning into it but it’s different than the post to which you made your original comment. The free lunch is not, unlike the vitamin water, a replacement for significant monetary compensation.

And no one has even said whether or not the person who took the picture took them or not, nor whether they would themselves. They are made because they’ve been, essentially, stolen from in broad daylight and are expected to be grateful for it.

Yea, I’m not that desperate, though. These worthless acts should be openly mocked for exactly what they are: management’s idea that we are stupid enough to actually be fooled by that shit.

It would be far more worth it to me to take the bottles and return them than give them any satisfaction and/or validation. They are worth so little to me that I don’t mind throwing them back and management should know that. These aren’t “treats”, they’re cheap replacements for significant moneyary compensation.

Free breakfast is certainly a little bigger than this, but it still doesn’t actually do anything to help anyone. It’s just another thing they can point to to pretend like they care while ignoring the only thing that will ever truly matter which is that they need to fucking pay us. I’ve had bosses before that pull that shit and then you ask for a raise that at least matches inflation and they try to tell you that “inflation doesn’t work that way.”

So if we’re talking “mindsets” I really don’t have much time for people that think shit like vitamin water instead of a bonus is a “treat” we need to be grateful for. I never did like the taste of boot.

  • Congrats, that’s regulation. If you want to pretend that you were being sarcastic I’ll pretend I didn’t see that.

What conservatives think those penalities are are things like “don’t buy from that company anymore” and I really don’t have to explain why that does not work except for the most inane luxury goods and even then it’s a coin toss if people actually do anything. That’s by design, of course, to make it sound like it works when it really just doesn’t.

  • Ok so if they seem to be third place in whatever area they’ll leave so as to avoid vote splitting allowing a party with less than half the votes to get a full seat of power. The centrists have been a little more vague(on brand) but seem to get the idea and might do the same.

If it actually works then the country would likely be left with a center or left minority government and enough total seats under control of center and/or left that a coalition could keep the fascists from doing too much damage.

As a fan of minority governments that can’t just bulldoze stuff I’m down, but it’s a dangerous game. Centrists aren’t known for follow-through on tough choices.

  • Hey dipshit, it’s called taxes and public services. That money can go into paying for free healthcare and education, the IRS to make sure all the other parasites pay their due(every dollar put into that organization leads to a positive return), and a host of other things that end up providing a huge gain for people. None of that is to mention that of the 86mil customers there are many who don’t need the extra money so we can push more down to the poorer of the bunch.

You’re very confident for someone who’s thought about this so little and has no real idea how any of it works. Your own math fails miserably when you acknowledge that that CEO is not the only rich person and a proper redistribution of wealth even in the way you mentioned would mean thousands of dollars a month for everyone.

  • Hell, even in FPTP in countries like Canada with a third, equally viable party not voting for what you want is a bit of a waste. If you don’t show your support then the next election has the chance to go even deeper into the fake two-party system.

It’s your voice. In many ways it’s your only voice and there is no nuance so you must be clear.

It does suck, and it doesn’t need to be that way. Living with a knife lodged in your arm also sucks but a doctor wouldn’t say “yea of course it hurts, it’s a knife!”; they’d actually try and fuckin’ help.

The issue is that when you make something as simple as a daily coffee a moral issue then you can open up very small amounts to mockery. They’re not trying to help, they’re trying to make it so it’s not their fault that all you can afford is over-inflated rent and rising food prices. They want any savings to go to them, not to us.

Forty years old working an office job you were educated for? Get a roommate because we think wanting to afford your own place at that age is entitled!

Working a physical job? We’re all gunna make you sound stupid so that even though you provide a great value and we demand a high level of quality of work we also won’t have to pay you as much. Maybe you should be roommates with the last person!

Want a cheap coffee to start your day? Booooo, that $60-75 a month could go into my pocket instead!

I’m sorry you said you wanted a hobby?! Hahaha it better be extraordinarly cheap!

Oh you bought a cheap thing and it broke? You should have somehow bought a more expensive thing that would last longer and cost less in the long run!

Oh you bought something that would last longer and cost less in the long run? Wow look at luxury pants over here, you should be saving that money!

You paid full price for that? Why don’t you be more like me and magically have enough disposable income to take advantage of sales even when you know you won’t need the thing for months.

It’s all just bullshit to fuck you over and make people fight eachother. They give us raises worth less than even just the inflation of the previous year and then when we speak out they turn it into a moral issue. Somehow it’s always our fault even though they’re the ones overpaying themselves while underpaying everyone else.

  • He said “but not insignificant”. That said, $185/mo($370/2) for something you get hot and fresh every single day should not be a big deal. The economy doesn’t function if little purchases can’t be made and it’s not like people are asking for a new pony every week. If you wanna be frugal to afford something else then that should be your choice and not just the bare minimum to be able to afford rent because your employer won’t pay you.

  • Look if we can’t even buy a coffee then what is honestly the fucking point? I don’t personally drink coffee but the point still stands that it’s not a wholly unreasonable thing to be asking for yet we’re constantly told that it’s a moral failing to spend our money. Fuck even when we stop buying stuff they whine that no one is consuming anymore. I just want to contribute to the local economy for fuck’s sake!

Face it, we’re all severely underpaid and it’s not our job to save every single dollar we possibly can just so they can pay us so little that there’s basically nothing leftover anyway. Being frugal to get something normally outside of our means should be a choice we get to make and a daily coffee should not be considered outside anyone’s means.
