I have! This printer actually finished a 3ft sailboat rudder before this print. I popped some pictures of it in as well
Do you think that could be be solved by adjusting the z offset?

Thanks for the tip! I’ve been hesitant to start messing around to much but I think it should if it means it’s more reliable
I’ve been looking at this for a while. The camera I have on it is a security camera that i put on my desk while it prints if I’m gone.
Do you think its worth pulling the trigger on a raspberry pie to get this set up?
It would at least once lol
It’ll probably be one or two more weekends worth of work, but I think I’m close. Its been an interesting learning experience, and honestly one that I probably couldn’t have done without a 3d printer. I’m very glad I gave it a shot and didn’t dump the boat like I had initially though about
I dig it!
And thank you! I’ll post an update once its done and in the water
Thats for the Hunter 170 next to it.
That makes me wonder if I couldn’t get that canoe sailing though.
Yes, I just finished printing a rudder core for my sailboat.
For all the headache its caused, its also saved me from several trips to the store to find cable ties, chip clips, a hair dryer holder, pencil cups, spice racks, etc.
Sweet thank you!
How’s Freecad these days? I avoided awhile ago it because it looked difficult to use but I think this might push me over to it
I thought so too! I cleaned it up a bit and glued the bottom back on. Its my pencil cup at work now
