@ajsadauskas @green, you have to understand, bottled oxygen is going to be a good business.
Retired, lover of good #music (any genre, except Reggeton and Summer hits), #computers, #technology, #science, #art, #ateismus, #human_rights, #left_wing #iconoclast, a lttle #troll, a cold beer with friends.
The reason why I love my #Vivaldi_browser and possibly you too

@ajsadauskas @fuck_cars, Air pollution as a cause of global warming is even more outrageous, if we know some facts that increase the desire to find out, how long some politicians and lobbyists can last hanging by their reproductive glands.
Some historical facts:

A couple in an elegant restaurant in Texas. The waiter appears, dressed in a tailcoat with a bottle wrapped in a napkin: “Chateo de Sauce, 1985” and pours a little into the customer’s glass, the customer tastes it and nods. The Waiter leaves and the other couple says “Wow, you were right, really a high-class restaurant.”
“I already said it, and this was just the ketchup.”
@drekly, no ok, blocking trackers is legit selfdefense, but also the abuse of ads, blocking these also is needed. Only it isn’t a problem when a web shows an banner image or two, this can be tolerated, but not the abuse of ads currently and annoying popups, it is legit to block this crap.
@drekly, simple ads are not a problem, if they are based on the content of the page and not based on user logs. Ads as is only can be somewhat annoying if there a lot in the page or they appears in the middle of a concert in YT, but no are a risk for the user privacy, no more than a commercial poster in the street or an ad in TV. As with all, bad the abuse. Years ago you saw 1-2 banners in a page, but novadays you must seek the webcontent between advertisings, banners, cookieadvices and popups
@drekly @Plswrk, nobody needs to work for free, but creating incommings by spying the user to sell his data to third party isn’t an acceptable way to gain money. There are a lot of methodes to gain money in the network, but with surveillance advertising spyware is the worse and with big risks for the user, which can’t control where his personal data ends up.
@swnt, Vivaldi is Chromium based (Blink). Never had any problems with Vivaldi in any page, but I know that some pages us the discriminating Browsersniffings, which should be illegal, but even with this I never had a problem, because Vivaldi appears by in their UA as Chrome, ever since Vivaldi removed their branding from the UA a few years ago because of these criminal practices of some pages.
Now in the Desktop browser you can even use BingChat, because Vivaldi automaticly switch its UA to EDGE
@swnt @Extrahammer, Vivaldi Android has an inbuild ad and trackerblocker, same as in Desktop, apart an own feature to play YouTube Videos, because of this you don’t need the YT app in Android.
@BraBraBra, neither China nor any other country today is what should be praised as a political ideal. China is certainly a totalitarian regime, but in comparison it is no worse than the US, Russia or others where the greed and lust for personal power of an elite prevail over the common good.
Political ideology is one thing and quite another to find where it is applied and not just nominal for the public.
@SeaJ @TheBlue22, although there are participants from the extreme left on Lemmy.ml, it is a good site. I prefer, like anyone oriented to the left of the political spectrum with a social ethic, this field than one oriented to the extreme right and fascist, of the social networks that we all already know. You can argue with those on the left, with the fascists it’s not possible, in any case, if you don’t like it, just ignore or block the corresponding instance.
@NotSpez, they are happy about this, since with the rise in temperatures new navigable and exploitable routes are opened by the melting ice at the poles, new developable lands due to forest fires, giving strong impulses to the pharmaceutical industry due to the increase in diseases and ancient viruses released from the permafrost, water becomes a lucrative business…
@pingu, I’ve been using it for 7 years and it has never appeared overloaded. There are some of the functions that I do not use and because of that I have hidden, however there are many others that come in very handy. But this is handled differently for each user, depending on how they use the browser. You can use extensions from the Chrome Store, but most are redundant in Vivaldi and not needed. You can give it the simple look of an old IE or of an Eurofighter panel and everything in between.
@pingu @BrokenToshy, Startpage is my secondary search engine, mainly for images, the other secondary most used is Mojeek, but my main and first search is Andisearch (AI) with unique features and one of the most private search engine out there
@pingu, I can’t detect nothing apart of some anonymous data.
DDG is not my favorite search engine, but it can be considered private and reliable.
@Butterbee, naturally, maybe in PVC single use, no refillable.
