For the record, supervised consumption sites aren’t the solution to drug abuse. They’re the solution to people dying of drug poisonings before they can get help with their addictions.
What causes drug addiction? Hopelessness. Homelessness. Mental illness. Abuse.

You think you’ll be getting more? How do you think the shareholders will get paid? Do you think doctors and nurses will cost less in the private system? Will private companies negotiate with pharma to lower drug prices, or just add 20% on top?
I suspect you haven’t thought this through, and are letting your anger lead you to the wrong conclusion. Maybe you could try voting for someone else (and convincing your friends and family to do the same) for the next election.
My mother moved from Ontario to Alberta a few years back because she said it was the “last place in Canada that respects my freedom”. I probably don’t need to tell you she dove head-first into the barrel of pig shit that is internet conspiracy theories over the course of the pandemic.
She’s chronically ill with a leukemia that is successfully managed by medication – but it requires regular care from experts or she could have a stroke or heart attack. She was also showing signs of dementia before I had to go zero-contact with her. As much as I don’t wish her harm… I suspect she won’t live long enough to regret her decision for very long.
If all these people were in one place, it would be Ontario’s 10th largest city – bigger than:

That was possibly the most disturbing part of the pandemic… People in ICUs about to be intubated, insisting that COVID was a hoax with their last words.
That sort of purposeful disinformation crosses the line into having been weaponized for the purpose of tearing the fabric of society apart – even worse still is the fact that education has been eviscerated so much over the past 50+ years that such a large percentage of people will fall for it.

Story time…
On the way home from work I stepped off a bus and turned in the direction of home. A young woman who was a few steps ahead of me was being verbally harassed with overtly sexual language by a man. I stepped between them, facing the dude, and told him to fuck off and walk away. Some words were exchanged, and eventually he turned around and walked away. I watch him for a minute or two, then turned around and walked home. The woman he was harassing was long gone.
When I got home and relayed this story to my girlfriend, she said this sort of interaction was COMMON. She’d never mentioned it in the nearly 10 years we’d been dating. It was normal to her. My response was “What the actual fuck? That’s bullshit.” But it was her reality, and the reality of the woman I saw, and probably dozens or hundreds more, every day.
We collectively need to do better. We need to stop doing it ourselves, and stop our friends, family, co-workers, acquaintances, and even strangers from doing it. We need to raise the average and be better.
Go to your local restaurant supply place and go buy the 1 gallon jug instead for half the price.
