Dave Chappelle has released a new Netflix special, The Dreamer, which is full of jokes about the trans community and disabled people.

“I love punching down!” he tells the audience, in a one-hour show that landed on the streaming service today (31 December).

It’s his seventh special for Netflix and comes two years after his last one, the highly controversial release The Closer.

That programme was criticised for its relentless jokes about the trans community, and Chappelle revisits the topic in his new show.

He tells jokes about trans women in prison, and about trans people “pretending” to be somebody they are not.

With cancel culture being so sensitive, free speech is under attack. I disagree with NewsMax and Nazis, but they have a right to express themselves without being cancelled.

Freedom of association is closely linked to freedom of speech. And to properly exercise that freedom the more information you have the better. And that freedom of association goes to private people as well as companies.

There’s no right to fill your comedy show or get a Netflix special. Which that asshat by the way still does. So I have no idea why you bring up cancel culture in the first place.

You dumb shit, cancel culture is bullshit. You just can’t accept that many, many people don’t like this sort of content, because it’s not funny and it hurts a lot of people. These people are using their right to free speech by commenting accordingly. With you alt-right shitheads free speech is always a one-sided thing. Free speech only if it benefits you. Fuck you and your dumb Nazi shit.
