    [Hey look its the thing]

Looks like your index finger might be having a little trouble actually clicking. Let me get that for you:

Writing for the Guardian, 15 years ago, the cult expert Rick Ross warned us to “watch out for the tell-tale signs” of a cult, including “no tolerance for questions or critical inquiry”, “there is no legitimate reason to leave”, “former followers are always wrong in leaving, negative or even evil”, and “the group/ leader is always right”.

Anyone who has observed the behaviour of the Democratic party base, especially online; of elected Democrats on Capitol Hill; and of the Democratic president himself, since the CNN debate on 28 June, will have spotted some of those “tell-tale signs”.

Let’s start with the Democratic base – those “hyper-partisans” who “act like members of a cult because they treat their political party like a religious identity”, to quote the political strategist Chris Sosa. I have spent the past few weeks watching the Very Online members of the base embracing an endless stream of “Blue Anon” conspiracy theories, pushed on behalf of the Dear Leader.

    Key elements:

“no tolerance for questions or critical inquiry”,

“there is no legitimate reason to leave”,

“former followers are always wrong in leaving, negative or even evil”,

“the group/ leader is always right”.

    Here, this is for you.

TDD is a known gaslighter and bad faith poster. Best to down vote and move on. Nothing constructive will come of engaging with them or Ozma.

With a skilled troll? Sure it keeps your wits sharp and your arguments on point. But with the Clown like these? It’s really just wasted effort. Yeah we do need to push back at them. Just don’t waste too much effort on them.

That one literally made the claim yesterday that Biden had a campaign promise that he was only going to serve one term period which is very easy to fact check and find out that his campaign never actually promised that period You’ll find articles from the time about some campaign AIDS saying that that’s what he signaled his intentions were. But that’s very different from getting up and putting out a press statement or something to the effect that’s official. I asked them to find anything from the time actually stating it as a campaign promise. And then they came back to me with an article slash video from a Rupert Murdoch owned media outlet from 5 years after the campaign ended. And prior to that had posted sources they claim support them that actually disproved that. Literally saying in article itself that Biden had never promised publicly on the campaign to do that.

And of course calling people blue maga. When they simply acknowledge the reality that a democrat or a republican has one basically every presidential election for the last 150 years. And arguing to keep the objective fascist out of government. And the objective fascist party from Gaining another branch of government. Or in any way similar to members of a cult of personality. It’s f****** clown shoes and really not to be taken seriously or given serious thought. But as long as you know it for what it is more power to you.
