Bullshit. It makes just as much sense this has no effect as it has any measurable effect. The only truth right now is that its too soon for any educated guesses or conclusions. Anyone saying firmly anything, should be flatly ignored right now.

There are so many examples of American patriotism coming out for the loudmouth. Bush’s random ass boost in polls after 9/11 was huge even though he did nothing. He just said a bunch of stupid Murica shit.

      Don’t kid yourself.

Reagan was shot and had the biggest landslide in history. LBJ ran a few months after Kennedy died and had similar numbers.

Reagan was going to landslide anyways since Carter was slipping. LBJ was leading a popular administration. Using the past in presidential contests to try and predict future ones is laughable, because they’re insanely complex, change rapidly from contest to contest, and we have so few data to parse from. Trump isn’t going to win because of this, most people still remember his horrible incompetence.

Carter didn’t run in 1984, it was his Veep Mondale.

If people remembered how bad Trump was we wouldn’t be worrying about Biden’s age.

Wait, that’s about Mondale? Oh, yeah, the math checks out, I guess. Mondale was the most milquetoast pick, there was no pull outside of MN. No wonder he had a landslide. How could getting shot three years before have that much of a draw?

              You’re kidding, right?

You really don’t think that surviving an assassination attempt, after JFK, MLK, and RFK all died, wouldn’t be a big deal?
