This is the violent lifestyle these thugs perpetuate. They should really try to do better by their communities

There will be assassination attempts on Biden as a result of this event. When they happen, how would you want ‘the right’ to react?

    Let’s take the high road.

      Fuck the high road.

One party is insisting on protecting the legacy of this country and democracy.

The other openly has plans to destroy democracy and are acting on them.

The fuck the high road mentality is what likely motivated the shooter and got us into this mess.

There is no reason to escalate what is already a tense political situation.

          Shit is already escalated

We had a violent fucking insurrection in 2020. The fallout is a corrupt supreme court saying that was legal because it was an official act

Shit is already fucked. Either bury your head in the sand and hope the Nazis will respect your integrity or act

            I will act through engagement.

When you use escalatory language you just just make the Nazis justify their actions by the response they receive.

In another tense moment in American history, the Civil rights movement of the 1960s, MLK was successful due to not being militant. Peaceful action and the strong overreaction of those against civil rights elicited sympathy in those not involved.

Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. While having other successes, he was unable to carry out the Poor People’s Campaign. Was violence successful in removing the voice of Martin Luther King Jr.?

Martin Luther King was successful in large part because of the acts of people like Malcolm X. Talk softly but point at the person with a big stick

When we are dealing with good faith actors Speak

When we are dealing with violent insurrectionists who have never won a popular vote and are actively talking about how they will remove the ability to ever speak again?

Don’t forget the impact of the Black Panthers. MLK gets the press today because the power doesn’t want people to get the right idea.

This implies that how we react to this will have any bearing whatsoever on how the right will treat us. It won’t. They will be as mean to us as they can physically manage, regardless of how we act, because they hate us.

Taking the high road makes you feel better about yourself. It doesn’t win a fight with someone playing dirty.

Hah, yeah, that’s certainly going to make the right react with solemnity and respect.
