I wouldn’t be so opposed to a trial if the jury gets to decide not only on facts, but on the law, and whether or not to apply the law in this circumstance (aka Jury Nullification).
I just found this community, so maybe I’m out of line, but that’s been tried and they ended up convicting a lot of literal witches.
I don’t have anything to add about this specific case, but no fixed regulations and rule by popularity is not somewhere we should go back to.
I don’t think that’s gonna happen though
