I’m running into an odd issue with auto-select, and I’m not quite sure what all it takes into account.
I usually main a two-handed sword, as I found a level 809 one relatively early on and it’s been my best weapon by far for forever and a day.
I recently found a level 784 two-handed mace, and auto select is trying to prefer it over the sword.
Looking at the stats, I show that the sword is 2624 DPS, and the mace is 2379, but my stats block shows my Slashing Weapon Damage as 2624 and my Bludgeoning Weapon Damage as 2644. I’ve double- and triple-checked, and I don’t have anything giving +% Bludgeoning or Two-Handed Bludgeoning weapon damage, and the min-max range listed in the tooltip when I hover over the Bludgeoning Weapon Damage is the same as the min-max range on the weapon.
I can’t figure out why this number is different. It impacts my build, because I have a fully maxed Seething glyph on my Paragon board giving me +65% damage to with swords, so I figure that forcing it to use the sword is my best bet, but I’d still really like to know what’s going on with the calculation that’s causing auto-select to prefer what is to all appearances a weaker weapon.
Any insight this fine community could provide would be greatly appreciated!
