Except the talk starts at 3, when you tell them to go to a shop owner or an employee for help rather than the police. And then again in a few years when you have to tell them not to walk around with The hood of their sweatshirt up. And then a few dozen more times over the next 10 years when you have to explain to them why doing something in public that white kids wouldn’t get a second look for doing is a really bad idea.

I’m indigenous Canadian, brown skinned long haired big tall dark 100% Ojibway Cree on both sides of my family from northern Ontario.

Unless you are white Caucasian, dealing with law enforcement is always a risk. As a teen and young man, I was always a suspect every time I dealt with the police, a criminal that had to prove on my own that I wasn’t. And I was one of the lucky ones because I had a lot of older family look out for me. So many of my friends who didn’t have the same protection just ended up miserable as they got trapped inside the system. They grew up being treated like criminals that no one was surprised that they became criminals.

41 shots, Lena gets her son ready for school

She says, "On these streets, Charles,

you’ve got to understand the rules

If an officer stops you, promise me you’ll always be polite

And that you’ll never ever run away

Promise Mama you’ll keep your hands in sight"

Is it a knife? (Is it a knife?)

Is it a wallet? (Is it a wallet?)

This is your life (this is your life)

It ain’t no secret (it ain’t no secret)

It ain’t no secret (it ain’t no secret)

    No secret my friend

I’m glad we had sex ex in school before that class got shut down by the parents that wouldn’t even be affected because they homeschool their kids or have them in rape-church private school.

I feel bad for black people though. I remember as a kid being at a friend’s house when his little brother got pretty much this talk.

I feel odd about sex ed in school. On one hand I believe it to be such an intimate topic that goes beyond basic reproduction which is what the school will only teach. The discussion should cover romance, intimacy, and emotional intelligence, but that doesn’t happen unless the parent is teaching it. On the other hand I know that many just wont do it at all, and the school teaching it is better than a large group of people just not knowing.

This being said Id never argue against sex ed, the people who do are dipshits.

I’m white as Wonder Bread and I remember hearing my daddy give that second talk to my big brother, word for word. Being as he’s white, it did work to keep him safe when he was arrested. For young men of color, the record shows it doesn’t always work for them.

    The small text for accessibility:

the daddy gives the mommy a very special gift. The gift of a brother. Daddy has a penis, and Mommy has a vagina. He sticks his penis into her vagina, and Mommy has an egg. Sperm comes out of Daddy’s penis and that comes into contact with the egg. When this happens, the sperm enters the egg and it causes over time for something to develop inside Mommy. Nine months later, the gift is delivered. Timmy, this is where you came from eight years ago. Lorem ipsum […]

This should be viral. Every BLM piece of propaganda on Youtube that I saw involving the death of a black person could be traced back to a shadow banned (by YouTube) raw video showing resisting arrest, brandishing a gun, etc. If they cared about people’s lives; they’d educate. My father had this talk with me, and any father that loves their kids should do likewise.

Are you legit victim blaming the dead on a comic about the effects of institutional racism, even in how black kids have a prejudiced introduction to growing up?

Everyone should teach their kids what to do when they encounter a wild animal but apparently you think that’s enough license to blame them when they get bitten?

In most countries failure to comply doesn’t carry a death sentence. Maybe I’m mad about that part. And maybe I’m mad because it’s disproportionate for black people. Maybe I’m mad because jogging while black and deaf shouldn’t put you at risk of police violence. Maybe I’m mad because even as a white lady cops look like they’re itching to get violent

If someone was brandishing a gun in a crowd -they killed themselves. If someone who had covid bad is having problems breathing when unobstructed wants to fight being arrested -they killed themselves.

Police are people, they can be corrupt like anyone else. They also do a shitty job that none of their critics would do. They’re under high scrutiny constantly and have to balance now whether to save their own life or risk going to prison from dangerous situations.

When BLM starts posting unedited un narrated raw footage without getting it shadow banned instead, then maybe they’d deserve an ear. Until then, all they’re doing is their part in diverting from the real problem of a genocidal, brutal racial slavery endorsing death cult. The art of war by turning their would be enemies against each other.

Breona Taylor was asleep when she was shot to death by police, how is it anything but a death sentence? and the worst part is no consequences for MAJOR fuckups like that. show me another profession where killing someone, intentionally or accidentally, doesn’t get you fired with criminal charges, and not just a vacation.

Resisting arrest is not punishable by death. The cop is not a jury. If you choose to resist, the punishment should be reasonably forceful arrest.

Also, some of the people you think were resisting arrest were sleep in their apartment. So…?

Some of the picture that you’re conveniently omitting:

George Floyd was a violent thug with a history which was known by Derek, so the situation was confirmed high risk for him (not even counting the unruly mob they had to contend with).

George complained about not being able to breathe while being escorted to the vehicle.

At that moment; medical was called for which is why they arrived on sceen (attempting to save his life).

George refused to get in the car and at his suggestion they laid him on the ground outside.

Derek’s knee to the neck was protocol and what he was trained to do that they lied about in court.

There’s conflicting testimonies about what actually killed him, but let’s not forget that he was complaining about not being able to breathe while still standing before a struggle, (which used up oxygen) which was his choice. He was also affected by Covid.

        So stop with the propaganda.

Ah, the high risk situation of being called to deal with a man falsely accused of a non-violent crime, and an unruly mob of people keeping their distance and “begging the men with guns and armor not to murder a man in the street”. I can definitely understand why shitty cowards would feel threatened.

          lied about in court

I’m gonna go with “nah”. He was found guilty, so he’s a guilty murderer.
I’m shocked a bootlicker like yourself would have such doubts in the system. Or is it because they actually found a cop guilty and you just can’t accept such a travesty? Just think of all the black kids he could have threatened!

          Go to hell.

Ms Taylor’s killing should make anyone distrust the justice system. I don’t care if she shot first. Middle of the night home invasions are a situation in which one cannot assume reasonable avenues for retreat and if you don’t know it’s the cops why the fuck shouldn’t you be shooting.

And it’s not like the cops actually help when you’ve actually had a home invasion…

for every video you have, I’ve got 2 that show people of all colors getting fucked royaly by cops, most often just by hurting their feelings. is a cops thin skin, usually after initiating and talking down to a person, or cussing at them or threatening them, a valid reason for jamming them up or killing them?
