And right now it feels like mostly technically-minded people use Lemmy. There is a lot of activity in the self-hosting, or piracy communities, while e.g. dating or relationship advice communities are virtually non-existent.
It makes sense because Lemmy (or generally the Fediverse) does a horrible job hiding complexity from the average user.
