Look into the Katyn massacre, where the NKVD executed thousands of polish prisoners of war in the Katyn forest. Look into how they invaded the Baltic countries and deported/killed ~150000 thousand Lithuanians, Latvians and Estonians while international attention was still focused on Germany. Look into how they invaded and annexed Bessarabia and northern Bukovina also ignored because everyone was up in arms about Germany. They were hand-in-hand with Nazi Germany, and the only reason they fought back was because they were attacked by Hitler.
