I wish I could say that people would riot before that happen, but these days I think that Americans will just take whatever the government does to them and at most will make some memes on the internet about how fucked up they were.

Back when roe V wade was overturned I still thought “this is gonna be the straw” but nope, nobody did anything at all, not even any minor protest.

America just doesn’t have any structure for fighting back. With just two parties and barely any relevant unions for anything, there’s nobody willing to organize anything to push back.

I am not really surprised. As long as people are not starving and they have any kind of recreational activities (social media, streaming, alcohol, drugs), they won’t do shit. The ancient romans already new about that. They gave the people “bread and circuses”.

The thing is, we have no straws. We’ll just bitch and moan about Roe and the school shooting du jour, but not much good comes out of it.

But other countries do have protests and riots for a lot less. I think the reason it doesn’t happen in America is mostly because of the lack of organized unions and stuff like that.

Where I live if some law suggested doctors could be facing jail time for providing care to someone who had a miscarriage, it wouldn’t take a week for doctors to go on strike, which would probably be organized by their union. And even anti-choice doctors would strike too.
