An airplane is not a restaurant that cooks the meals from scratch. Let’s say the plane has 200 passengers how many do you think will be vegans? From what I learned from the article there’s only one vegan passenger. And from what I’ve learned about vegans they’ll not touch food that has been contaminated by animal products. If an airline is to accommodate vegan meals they’re not just gonna pack a few, they’ll have to pack a lot. And that extra weight will cost more fuel. In the 1980s American airlines saved $40k a year from fuel by removing one olive from the prepacked salads they serve the passengers.
