I am the same. So “UniversalMonk” is my ‘username’ on Lemmy. That can’t be changed.

“Socialist Morman Satanist” is my ‘display name’ which I can, and often do change. Not everyone’s reader shows display names, so for many, they just see “UniversalMonk.” I’m mostly on desktop version of Lemmy, so I see my display name.
