➢ On GOG, apparently, it was removed on the 14th, and now the game’s link redirects to the catalogue page.
➢ On Itchio, a “We couldn’t find your page” error is loaded when loading the link still found in forums and databases such as on PC Gaming Wiki.
➢ On Kagura Games, it has already been delisted, and with the following message in the game’s store page: “Shady Corner Games has ended its contract with the developer of this game, so it is no longer sold. Customers can still access the downloads if they own the game.”
➢ On Zoom Platform, it was announced it will be delisted on the 21st.
➢ It should still be safe on DLsite and Patreon, as apparently it is self-published there and going by KG and ZP’s messages, self-publishing shouldn’t be a problem.
Can’t you just put a game on stores when you are self-publishing?
From what I remember, in some cases of delistings on GOG due to rights changes, staffers there commented that, for a game to be relisted, it would need approval of the new rights holders. And since, going by Kagura Games’ notice specifically, it was due to termination of contract, I would imagine the only thing Shady Corner Games could do now is the delisting, and now we wait to see what the dev will decide, if he/she will decide anything.
It should still be safe on DLsite and Patreon, as apparently it is self-published there and going by KG and ZP’s messages, self-publishing shouldn’t be a problem.
Something about this decision seems odd as you can self-publish games on Itch.io so this shouldn’t have been a factor when they chose to delist their games
Might also just be a strictly business decision
Regarding Itchio specifically, it was available under the Shady Corner Games’ page, the publisher. If the dev wants to make it available on Itchio again but now self-published, I would imagine it would require him/her to publish under his/her own page.
That seems to make the most sense.
