I have so many reusable bags, mainly because I have a terrible case of “God fucking dammit I forgot to put it in the car again-itis” but i still wouldn’t go back to plastic bags
I put the (fabric) grocery bags next to my bag and/or backpack which I will take along on the way to work, so I’ll remember to take them along as well. Mostly. But there’s a backup bag or two in the car and a backup bag in the bag so even if I forget things four times over, I can still carry a fair bit of stuff when needed.

I have an “emergency” bag I leave in my trunk that I only use when I forget my usual ones. It helps!
But then you forget to put that back in the trunk too.
