They had the whole engine control circuitry replaced in 2010/2011, so they act and sound differently than way back when they were new (1977-1990).
I think they’re pretty well-made in general, but the high floor is certainly a relic of its time and there are no informational displays for passengers on the inside.
The are old, not uncomfortable and as fast as the new ones. They are getting replaced continually.
I always get excited when I get on one of the old ones, they’re so charming and no worse than the new ones. A bit louder maybe.
