Democrat Chris Murphy, who chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s Middle East subcommittee, said Washington had previously withheld military aid from Egypt on human rights grounds while maintaining its strategic relationship with the country.
It’s almost like there’s another situation out there where the US could hold back support in order to get them to stop violating human rights.
There’s only two options: pretend to care about human rights or pretend to care about Israel. And human rights are not profitable right now.
