There’s a bicycle memorial near me that’s been in place for well over a decade. I think it’s tasteless for a city to take these down unless they start appearing on every street corner.
Unfortunately, I have to side with the city on this one. They have policies, they warned the family so they could have come and got it. I feel they at least could’ve delivered the memorial to the family if they wanted
“But city policy is city policy it seems.”
Rules for thee are indeed rules for me.
13 months is pretty reasonable. We can’t have memorials at every roadside indefinitely.
If someone died at every roadside or intersection, there should be a memorial. In the states, South Dakota puts a white X everywhere someone has died from a vehicle related accident. Really makes you think twice about speeding or passing people. They’re a lot of Xs.
Yeah, that’s true, and I’d support a plaque or something for awareness past the limit.
179 days after murdering someone and fleeing the scene. Talk about a slap on the wrist.
I dont think the driver desrves to be banished from Canada for this, which seems to be a prime factor in the sentencing:
Latimer also pointed out that while Feng has been in Canada for 20 years, as a permanent resident it is very likely she will be subject to a removal order to China once she completes her sentence. The judge said a prison sentence of six months or more would cause Feng to lose her right to appeal such an order.
