Pro models should receive some form of Thunderbolt 3 (not 4*)/USB 4… so it’s more than likely Apple will get away with this once more.
*Side note: TB4 spec requires supporting more than 1 external display/monitor iirc, and it’s pretty safe to say the next iPhone Pro will not do that, lol.
Pay attention to Apple’s Marketing: with the products where this is applicable in recent times, it tends to say “Thunderbolt/USB 4”, because it’s only Thunderbolt 3, not 4, the newest/better standard (e.g. Macbook Air).
